Rhum Rhum is the collaboration between Marie-Galante's Bielle distillery and Italian distiller Vittorio Capovilla, here a 2007 vintage bottled by Velier at 57%. Pressed from fresh cane juice and aged ten years, it is a sought-after, increasingly rare bottle from one of the most respected names in the cane juice world.

This is a serious, oak-driven agricole rather than a fresh white. The nose is heavy and woody, the palate runs through dried fruit, herbs, dark chocolate and a pronounced bitterness, and the finish carries bitter cocoa, black tea and barrel notes over a long, complex fade. Dry, powerful and demanding, with tobacco and tea wrapped around a grassy core, it rewards patience and is best suited to drinkers ready for a challenging, deeply matured sipper.
