Description
Velier Arawaks Clairin Vieux Vaval 2015 is a Haitian clairin selected by Velier, the Genoa house regarded as the leading name in collectible rum. Clairin is Haiti's village cane-juice spirit, agricole in all but name, fermented wild from heirloom cane and known for its intense, expressive character.
This Vaval comes from a 2015 harvest, distilled on a pot still and aged six years in ex-bourbon, a single cask bottled unsweetened at 46.4% for La Maison du Whisky in Singapore. Expect the turbo-charged funk and bold, earthy cane character typical of aged clairin, framed by time in oak, dry and uncompromising. A bottle for those who like rum at its most characterful.
