Description
An Enmore REV bottled by Valinch & Mallet for their Spirit of Art series, distilled in 1994 off a column still and aged twenty-six years. The REV is one of the most sought after old Enmore marques, and this single cask captures it at full, dry intensity.
Matured in ex-bourbon oak and bottled unsweetened at 52.5%, it shows massive dried plum, raisin, leather, licorice, dark chocolate and tobacco, the wood and fruit knitted together with herbal and menthol freshness. The alcohol is cleanly integrated and the finish runs long on leather, prune and oak. Dry, layered and beautifully resolved, it is the sort of bottling drinkers measure other REVs against, a serious continental Demerara for slow, contemplative sipping.
