Two Shores Las Cabras Two Shores Premium Golden Rum Oloroso Finish

Two Shores is the independent label behind this Panamanian golden rum, drawn from the Las Cabras distillery and aged eight years before a finishing spell in oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 45%, firmer than the regional standard.

Panamanian ron is soft and vanilla led by nature, distilled from molasses on a column still in the smooth Spanish style. An oloroso finish typically adds dried fruit, walnut and a savoury, nutty depth, and the record here points to woody and spicy notes that fit that picture. The result should be a rounded, sherry shaped Panamanian with a touch more structure than the easy mellow base would give on its own.
