Description
An independent Tullibardine, drawn and bottled by Dràm Mòr, aged 7 year old from 2015, drawn from cask 144 and bottled at 55%. 300 bottles in all. Tullibardine was established in 1949 in Blackford, on the edge of the Highlands, and it distils, matures and bottles on one site. Delme-Evans went on to design the Jura and GlenAllachie distilleries.
It was drawn off copper pot stills fed by the Danny Burn, for a soft, vanilla scented spirit. A sherry cask wrapped the soft spirit in dried fruit and a nutty depth. At this age the spirit is fresh and honeyed, the malt and soft fruit bright. Sherry wood suits the soft make, lending dried fruit and a nutty depth. After lean years and a long silence, private investors brought the distillery back to life in 2003. Picard is a Burgundy wine family, and their casks come from vineyards across France.
At cask strength 55% it is full bodied. The Palo Cortado adds a dry, nutty, savoury note, and a gentle vanilla from the wood runs under a mellow, honeyed character. A dried fruit and a soft oak give it depth. A long, honeyed finish carries a fruity lift. This is a gentle, honeyed Highland single malt.
