Bottled by Cadenhead's, this Tullibardine, a 25 year old from 1993 and bottled at 43.2%. The outturn was 228 bottles. Set at the foot of the Ochil Hills, Tullibardine has distilled since 1949. Its malt also goes into the Highland Queen blend, another Picard brand.

Distilled in copper stills on Ochil Hills spring water, giving the light, fruity spirit at its heart. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, soft oak that lets the honeyed fruit lead. Long ageing brings a deeper dried fruit character and a soft oak spice. Years in oak round the spirit, the honey and soft fruit deepening with age. Under French wine ownership the distillery has leaned into its cask finishes. The Murray and Custodian's Collections gather its older and rarer bottlings. Blackford's spring water has drawn brewers and distillers to the village for centuries. Tullibardine was founded in 1949 by the architect William Delme-Evans, the first new distillery in post war Scotland.

At 43.2% it is clean and honeyed. The refill oak lending honey and vanilla, with pear, honey and a malty note. The texture is soft and round, the fruit lifted by honey. A warming, honeyed finish lingers. This is Tullibardine's fruity Highland style.
