Tuets Tot Blanc is a natural white from Albert Domingo in Alt Camp, Tarragona, blending Chenin Blanc, Macabeo, Grenache Blanc, Parellada and Moscatel. Organically farmed on calcareous soils, it is a fresh, aromatic white with orchard fruit and floral lift.
Description
Tuets Tot Blanc comes from Celler Tuets in Alt Camp, inland Tarragona, where Albert Domingo farms the land his family has worked for six generations. He uses organic methods and treats the estate as a living system, and this bottling is made as a natural wine without denomination of origin. The vineyards sit largely on calcareous soils with pockets of sandy and clay loam, giving the wine a chalky mineral base and good freshness in a warm Mediterranean climate. The blend brings together five varieties, each adding something: Chenin Blanc and Macabeo for structure and orchard fruit, Grenache Blanc for body, Parellada for delicacy and lift, and a small share of Moscatel de Alejandria for floral aromatics. As a natural wine it is made with minimal intervention and no oak, which keeps the fruit fresh and direct. The wine is pale straw, faintly cloudy in the natural style. The nose shows green apple, white peach and white flowers with a note of fresh dough, and the palate is dry, light and gently textured, with a clean, saline finish. Serve chilled at 9 to 11 degrees. It suits fresh salads, grilled white fish, shellfish and young goat cheese.
