Trovati make this pale rosé from Pinot Grigio in Trentino, in the foothills of the Italian Dolomites. The 2024 is light and dry at 12% alcohol, with white peach, pear and a fresh citrus edge.
Description
Trovati produce this rosé from Pinot Grigio grown in Trentino, in the alpine north of Italy, under the IGT Vigneti delle Dolomiti. Pinot Grigio has naturally pink-tinged skins, and a short maceration draws a delicate copper-pink colour, the traditional ramato style of the region. The vineyards sit in the cool foothills of the Dolomites, where mountain air and a wide day-to-night temperature swing slow ripening and lock in the bright acidity and clean aromatics that mark wines from here. Fermentation is cool and in stainless steel to keep the fruit fresh and the style crisp and dry. The colour is pale pink. The nose shows white peach, pear and red berry, with a citrus and white-flower lift. On the palate it is light, dry and refreshing, with stone fruit, a touch of melon and a clean, low-alcohol finish at 12%. This is an easy-drinking aperitif-style rosé for the warmer months, best enjoyed young while its freshness is at its peak. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees. It suits salads, light seafood and lighter dishes generally.
