Trois Rivières VO Cuvée Du Moulin

Trois Rivieres traces its estate back to 1660 and is now distilled at the La Mauny site in Martinique, and this VO Cuvee Du Moulin is its entry level aged AOC agricole, distilled from fresh pressed sugar cane and bottled unsweetened at 40%. It is pitched squarely at easy, everyday drinking.

The wood here is restrained, giving gentle citrus, apple, vanilla and soft oak, with the cane juice character showing as a light grassy, slightly bitter note on the dry finish. Nothing is pushed hard, and at this strength it stays uncomplicated and undemanding. It works as a simple, affordable introduction to aged agricole for drinkers not yet after heavy funk or high proof, equally at home as a casual neat pour or in a relaxed cocktail.
