Trois Rivieres is a Martinique agricole estate with roots reaching back to 1660, now distilled at the La Mauny site, working the AOC way from fresh pressed sugar cane juice with no added sugar on a creole column still. This single cask carries a 1998 vintage and was chosen for the Maison du Rhum bottling series, drawn at fourteen years from an ex bourbon barrel, a span that tropical ageing makes count for more than the number suggests.

The declared notes are spare but telling, dried fruit on the nose and chocolate on the palate, pointing to a mature, oak influenced profile where the grassy cane character has folded into deeper, darker tones. Single cask and unsweetened, it captures one specific barrel of aged Trois Rivieres rather than a blended house style. Bottled at 46.2%, it sits at a comfortable sipping strength, a aged Martinique agricole for drinkers who want the savoury, dried fruit and cocoa side of long matured cane juice, best taken slowly and neat.
