Trois Rivières Fût Unique 1998

Trois Rivieres is a Martinique estate with roots back to 1660 and more than a century of rum behind it. This Fut Unique is a 1998 vintage drawn from a single ex-Bourbon cask and aged ten years, distilled from fresh pressed sugar cane juice on the island's rum AOC.

Ten years of warm climate ageing carries an agricole well past its stated age, layering vanilla, baking spice and toasted oak over the grassy, peppery cane core, drier and more spice led than a sweet molasses rum. As a single cask from an older vintage, this is a collector leaning bottle. Unsweetened at 44.8 percent, it reads dry and mature, a focused expression of aged Martinique cane juice.
