Distilled low on a column still to keep the cane congeners, then rested in ex bourbon oak before its whisky cask finish, it shows smoky, peaty and medicinal notes layered over woody spice, with the grassy agricole base reading only faintly beneath. The result divides opinion: drinkers expecting a fresh cane juice rum may find the whisky influence assertive, while those who enjoy light, smoky single malts will recognise the territory.
