An elegant ten year old Trois Rivieres that leans mineral and apple-forward rather than grassy, with dried fruit, spice and a candied, eucalyptus-tinged finish, refined and easy at an unsweetened 43%.
Description
Trois Rivieres Cuvee Saint-Pierre is a ten year old vieux from the Martinique estate with roots back to 1660, now distilled at the La Mauny site from fresh cane juice. As an aged AOC-style agricole it sits firmly in vieux territory, where tropical ageing lends extra maturity, and it is bottled unsweetened at 43%. The style here favours finesse over raw power.
Distilled on a creole column and matured in ex-bourbon oak under island heat, it has grown into a polished, mineral rum rather than a grassy one. Apple, fresh florals and orchard fruit lead the nose, while the palate carries oak, dried fruit and spice over a still-present cane note, closing on candied fruit and a cool eucalyptus lift. At 43% it sips easily, trading intensity for balance and a chiselled, mineral feel. A refined neat agricole for drinkers who want elegance and fruit-and-wood depth in a relaxed glass.
