Description
Trimbach produces this Muscat Réserve within AOC Alsace, at a family estate founded in Ribeauvillé in 1626 and led by the Trimbach family across thirteen generations. It is made from two Muscat varieties grown on vines of around thirty-five years, old enough to give concentration and a complex, structured grape with ageing potential. Alsace lies sheltered by the Vosges mountains, and the dry, sunny climate lets Muscat reach ripeness while keeping its floral lift. The distinctive quality of dry Alsace Muscat is that it smells of fresh grapes yet finishes bone dry, so Trimbach ferments the wine fully and keeps it away from oak, preserving the delicate aromatics and freshness. The colour is pale with green highlights. The nose is intensely floral, white flowers and elderflower over fresh table grape, rose and white peach. The palate is light, dry and crisp, with citrus peel and green apple carried on brisk acidity to a clean, savoury finish. At 12.5% it is an ideal aperitif style. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.

Additional information
One of the few wines that flatters asparagus and green vegetables, where its grapey aroma and dry finish work well. Serve it as an aperitif, or with fresh salads, light white fish and cold chicken.
