Trimbach has made wine in Ribeauvillé since 1626, now across thirteen generations. This single-variety Gewürztraminer grows on marl, limestone and sandstone in a semi-continental Alsace climate, giving a perfumed, full white of rose, lychee-like stone fruit and warm spice.

Description
Trimbach makes this Gewürztraminer from AOC Alsace fruit, at a house founded in the medieval town of Ribeauvillé in 1626 and run by the same family for thirteen generations. The vineyards lie on marl, limestone and sandstone, soils that give structure and a firm mineral spine to a grape that can otherwise turn broad. Alsace sits in the rain shadow of the Vosges, and its semi-continental climate brings warm, dry, sunny autumns that push Gewürztraminer to full aromatic ripeness while the 14% alcohol reflects that generous fruit. Trimbach favours a dry, precise style, fermenting to hold the wine clean and structured rather than sweet, so the grape's natural perfume is carried on a taut frame with ageing potential. The colour is bright gold. The nose is markedly floral, rose and orange blossom leading into white peach, apricot and the grape's signature exotic spice. The palate is full and rounded, with honey and orange peel, a ginger warmth and enough acidity and grip to stay balanced and savoury through the finish. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees in a generous glass.
