Travellers Kill Devil 2007 comes from the Belizean distillery Travellers, bottled by Hunter Laing under its Kill Devil label. This is a Scottish whisky house single cask in the natural tradition, a 2007 vintage molasses rum aged nine years in ex bourbon oak, unsweetened and bottled at 46%, non chill filtered.

The character here is all roasted chocolate and coffee. The nose offers cocoa, toffee, coffee and dark chocolate, the palate doubles down with coffee, nutty notes, caramel and more dark chocolate, and the finish stays dry with dark chocolate, cappuccino and coffee. Continental ageing keeps it light in body and lets those roasty notes shine without heavy oak. It recalls a drier, more subtle take on a Latin chocolate rum, and the medium dark colour matches the gentle weight.
