Toucan is a French Guiana brand drawing on rum from the Saint Maurice distillery, the territory's agricole producer working from fresh pressed cane juice. Le Floc du Pirate is a lower strength, sweetened apero style rather than a straight rum, made for relaxed drinking rather than serious sipping.
Expect a soft, lightly sweet and easy character rather than the grassy snap of a full proof agricole. At 17% it is gentle, best served cold, a mellow aperitif pour from one of South America's lesser known cane juice sources.
