Signatory Vintage bottled this Tormore single malt, aged 19 year old from 1995, drawn from cask 3892 + 3893 and bottled at 43%. The outturn was 727 bottles. First built between 1958 and 1960 in Speyside, near the Cairngorms, Tormore is a grand Speyside distillery. The granite buildings carry copper roofs and a musical clock that plays four Scottish songs each quarter hour.

Distilled on soft Speyside water through purifier stills, building the firm, clean Tormore style. Ex-Bourbon casks held it, soft oak that lets the nut and fruit lead. Past a decade the nut deepens into almond, honey and a riper orchard fruit. The light, ester rich make takes cask character well across maturation. A workers' village was built nearby in the same striking style. Heat recovery condensers and sub coolers run alongside the purifier stills. The soft water runs through heather and peat and granite before reaching the distillery.

At 43% it is smooth and nutty. Melon, nut and a grassy note sit alongside honeyed oak sweetness underneath. It is clean and structured, the nutty spirit shining through. It finishes clean, fresh and nutty. This is Tormore's clean, nutty Speyside style.
