Topanito Reposado is a 100% agave tequila produced by hand at Casa Maestri in the historic town of Tequila, with Michael Maestri overseeing the spirit himself. Its pale, washed straw colour suggests maturation in casks already on their second fill, which lets the agave stay in front of the wood.
Production starts with the agave hearts cooked slowly in brick ovens, followed by fermentation with natural yeast cultures and a gentle twice over distillation in copper pot stills. Cask resting earns it the reposado classification and brings oak, vanilla and forest honey to a juicy agave palate, with a rounded, almost grappa like turn on some notes. Bottled at 40% ABV, it sits as the softer, fuller sibling to the brand's punchier blanco.
