This Tobermory was bottled by UD - bottler, a 25 year old island malt from 1995 and bottled at 55.3%. Just 113 bottles were filled. Tobermory is the fruity, unpeated side of the only distillery on the Isle of Mull. The single malts are bottled without chill filtration at 46.3 percent or higher.

Distilled in the kinked copper stills for a fruity spirit, building the oily Tobermory style. It was matured in ex-Bourbon oak, lending vanilla and honey. Beyond twenty years the malt grows deep and waxy, honey, dried fruit and nut over old oak. The cool, damp island air gives a slow, even maturation. A rare, more heavily peated make has appeared under the name Iona, after a neighbouring isle. In dry summers the distillery has paused when its hill loch ran low. The distillery sits at the head of the bay, beneath a steep wooded hill. Both malts feed the Scottish Leader and Black Bottle blends as well as single malt.

Undiluted at 55.3%, it is powerful. Honey, wax and a soft nut, and vanilla and a soft oak come from the bourbon wood. A green note and a gentle spice give it depth. A long, waxy finish carries a green lift. This is an unpeated malt from Mull's only distillery.
