The Whisky Fellas bottled this Tobermory, a 13 year old from 2008, drawn from cask 110363 and bottled at 52.5%. A release of 70 bottles. Made on the Isle of Mull, Tobermory is the unpeated single malt of the island's sole distillery. The stills carry boil bulbs and an S shaped kink in the lyne arms, which raises reflux.

Distilled from unpeated malt in kinked copper stills on soft Mull water, giving the oily, fruity island make. A refill bourbon cask held it, keeping the fruit to the fore. By this age the oily spirit rounds into nutty fruit and a waxy depth. Years in oak round the spirit, the fruit and wax deepening with age. The distillery was refurbished and its stills renewed between 2017 and 2019. Mull's maritime climate works into the maturing casks over the years. It is one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland still working. Tobermory has distilled in the island's harbour town since 1798.

Bottled at a cask strength 52.5%, it is intense. Orchard fruit, wax and a nutty note, and honeyed vanilla comes through from the ex-Bourbon. Beneath it run orchard fruit, wax and a soft nut. The finish runs fruity, nutty and warm. This is Tobermory, the unpeated malt of the Isle of Mull.
