From Morrison Scotch Whisky Distillers comes this Tobermory, a 13 year old release from 2008 and bottled at 47.5%. Only 1554 bottles were released. Tobermory, the unpeated malt of the Isle of Mull, comes from one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. It is one of Scotland's oldest distilleries, and the only one on its island.

It was drawn off stills with their S shaped lyne arms, for a medium bodied, fruity spirit. A refill bourbon cask held it, keeping the fruit to the fore. By this age the oily spirit rounds into nutty fruit and a waxy depth. Sea air works into the island maturation, lending a faint saline lift. The distillery was refurbished and its stills renewed between 2017 and 2019. Mull's maritime climate works into the maturing casks over the years. It is one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland still working. Tobermory has distilled in the island's harbour town since 1798.

At cask strength 47.5% it is muscular. Green apple, citrus and a herbal lift, and the bourbon cask adds vanilla and a gentle honey. It is fruity and full, the oily spirit shining through. It finishes fruity, oily and warming. This is Tobermory's oily, unpeated island single malt.
