Timorous Beastie is a blended malt Scotch from Douglas Laing, a vatting of Highland single malts. Douglas Laing built its Remarkable Regional Malts to capture the character of each Scotch region. The Glasgow firm has bottled and blended Scotch since 1948.

A blended malt marries single malts from more than one distillery to a house style. Highland malts bring a soft, fruity, honeyed character to the vatting. The whiskies are married and rested together before bottling. The maker chooses malts for the balance each lends to the whole. Douglas Laing built its Remarkable Regional Malts to capture each Scotch region. A blended malt marries single malts from more than one distillery to a house style. The Highland malts lend a soft, fruity, honeyed character to the vatting. A period of marrying lets the malts settle into one another. Douglas Laing has bottled Scotch for blends and single malts since 1948.

Bottled at 46.8%, it is rounded. Honey, orchard fruit and a gentle spice run through it, with a soft oak warmth. Soft fruit and a flinty mineral note sit behind the oak. The close is warm, fruit over active oak. A characterful Highland blended malt from Douglas Laing.
