Celler Tianna Negre makes this organic Mallorcan rosé from the island’s native Manto Negro grape. Grown on Binissalem limestone and pressed pale, it is fresh and dry, with red berries, peach and a saline, citrus lift.
Description
Tianna VéloRosé is produced by Celler Tianna Negre in Binissalem, in the centre of Mallorca, a project of the Morey-Garau family and Bodegas Túnel. The winery opened in 2007 with modern equipment that lets the team handle the fruit gently from harvest to press. This wine is made entirely from Manto Negro, the island's signature red grape, farmed organically. The Mediterranean climate is warm and sunny, but limestone rich soils and the sea breeze keep the wines fresh, and careful canopy work protects acidity through the summer. The grapes are pressed gently to draw only the palest juice, then fermented cool in stainless steel to preserve aromatic freshness and a dry, crisp profile. The colour is a pale, bright pink. The nose shows red berries, cherry and white peach over citrus and a light floral note, while the palate is dry and fresh with a clean, gently saline finish that reflects the island terroir. Serve well chilled at around 8 to 10 degrees. It is a fine aperitif and pairs naturally with the island's seafood, white fish and fresh salads.
