A ti arrangé from Les Rhums de Ced, Martinique cane-juice rhum macerated with pineapple, coconut and lime into a sweet, soft tropical sipper at a low 32%, closer to a fruit infusion than a dry agricole and best served chilled.
Description
This is a rhum arrangé from Ti Arrangés de Ced, the French-island tradition of steeping fresh fruit in cane-juice rhum until the spirit takes on its flavour. The base is Martinique agricole off a column still, here built around pineapple, coconut and lime, and bottled gently at 32%.
The result is openly sweet and fruit forward, all tropical pineapple and creamy coconut lifted by a squeeze of lime, with the alcohol kept low and soft so it drinks easily. This is an infusion rather than a dry sipping rhum, made to be enjoyed cold as an aperitif or after dinner. Those expecting the grassy snap of a straight agricole should look elsewhere, but as a relaxed, sun soaked pineapple and coconut pour it does exactly what it sets out to do.
