Description
This is a 15 Year Old single cask from Clarendon, the Clarendon parish workhorse that runs both pot and column stills and supplies marks across the funk spectrum. Bottled by The Wild Parrot at full strength from one ex-bourbon barrel, it sits toward the lighter, fruitier end of the Jamaican range rather than the glue-bomb extreme, distilled from molasses and aged 15 years before bottling at 58.9%.
The nose is fresh and tropical, pineapple and lime peel over a clean estery lift, while the palate keeps the fruit high and adds a faint metallic, leathery edge that marks the older Clarendon style. Tropical fruit carries through a long finish with woody, gingery warmth and a roasted note at the close. Unsweetened and bottled at cask strength, it suits a small neat pour where the strength and the fruit have room to open.
