This official Glendullan, at 40%. Glendullan is a Speyside single malt from Dufftown, once supplied to King Edward VII. Its founder also struck an exclusive supply deal with neighbouring Glenfiddich. It was built in 1897 by William Williams and Sons, Aberdeen blenders, the seventh and last distillery raised in Dufftown. It sits on the banks of the River Fiddich, in the heart of Speyside. It runs long fermentations and a slow distillation for a green, grassy, lightly fruity spirit.

The spirit was taken gently through wash and spirit stills, shaping a green, malty Speyside character. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, the oak gentle behind the fruity spirit. Without an age statement, a fresh pear note and vanilla point to good years in cask. Because the long fermentation keeps the spirit fresh and grassy, the cask shows clearly with time. Long ageing turns the fresh green notes towards orchard fruit, honey and a gentle spice.

Bottled at 40%, it is light and creamy. A grassy, malty sweetness, lifted by a soft oak. Beneath it run green apple, pear and a soft grass. A fresh finish closes on pear and a soft oak. This is a light, grassy Speyside single malt.
