A Singleton of Dufftown, a distillery bottling, at 40%. Dufftown is one of Diageo's largest malt distilleries, founded in 1895 in a former mill. It became the heart of the Bell's blend after Arthur Bell and Sons bought it in 1933.

The spirit was run through the stills on water from Jock's Well in the Conval Hills, for the nutty, spicy make Dufftown is known for. A bourbon barrel held it, the wood adding a light vanilla and a soft honey. Carrying no age, soft vanillin (vanilla) and a green apple suggest a fair spell in cask. Active wood frames the fruit without overwhelming the smooth Speyside spirit. The cool Speyside air gives a slow, even maturation in the Dufftown warehouses. Refill oak lets the nutty, malty Dufftown character lead the way. Eight warehouses on site hold close to 100,000 casks of maturing malt. A gentle maturation suits the smooth make, the nutty malt growing richer with time.

Bottled at 40%, it is rounded. A smooth, fruity sweetness, with a soft vanilla from the oak. It is nutty and malty, the smooth spirit shining through. The finish runs gentle, nutty and warming. This is the workhorse malt of Dufftown.
