The Kyoto Black Label is a blended whisky from Kyoto Miyako, a small, newer distillery based in Kyoto prefecture. Released at 46% abv and selected specifically for the French market, the bottling carries no age statement and is presented as a non-single-cask expression from the distillery's own portfolio.
Maturation in Ex-Bourbon casks gives the typical vanilla, light caramel and soft grain character associated with American oak at this style. The higher bottling strength of 46% preserves more texture and spirit weight than lighter-proof blends, bringing a modest warmth to what is otherwise a gentle, approachable profile in the house style.
