Kumquats hand-picked on Corfu lead the charge here, all bright complex acidity, before wild thyme and pine pull the whole thing down into something cool and resinous. A Munich distillery’s yearly one-off, just 2,345 bottles strong, it tastes like a Mediterranean hillside at noon. Invigorating, herbal, gone too soon.

Description
Each year The Illusionist Distillery in Munich releases a single limited edition with its own signature, and the 2025 Distiller's Edition looks south to the Mediterranean. The centrepiece is kumquats picked by hand on the Greek island of Corfu, their sharp fruit set against wild mountain herbs gathered nearby. Only 2,345 bottles were filled at 45%, each arriving in a gift box, and the result reads as a small homage to coastal Corfu rather than a standard dry gin.
The nose is citrus-forward, that kumquat note intense and bright, threaded with fine herbs and a whiff of forest. On the palate mandarin and lemongrass arrive first, then cool down into woody pine and basil, the coastal herbs lingering through a refreshing, faintly green finish. Pour it over a neutral tonic and garnish with a slice of kumquat and a sprig of fresh thyme.
