Description
The Glover 8 Years Old is the most mature expression in Adelphi's cross-cultural blended malt series, combining Chichibu malt from Saitama with Ardnamurchan single malt from the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. The series, named for the Scottish-Japanese entrepreneur Thomas Blake Glover, has built a following for its thoughtful pairing of two distinctly different distilling traditions, one rooted in Saitama's fruit-forward malt character, the other in the coastal, Atlantic-influenced style of Ardnamurchan.
Matured in Ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 56.4% cask strength, this 8 year old expression has no confirmed bottling year in the available data. The extra maturation time relative to the earlier editions in the series allows the Ex-Bourbon wood to contribute greater vanilla depth and spice integration, while both the Chichibu fruitiness and Ardnamurchan's coastal character continue to play through the blend at natural strength.
