This official 1770 Glasgow single malt matured to 4 year old from 2018, drawn from cask Batch 01 and bottled at 57.5%. Only 1925 bottles were released. The Glasgow Distillery Company, set up in 2012 in Hillington, was Glasgow's first malt distillery in over a hundred years. Makar Gin came first, in 2014, and helped fund the return of whisky to the city.

Run through the distillery's copper pot stills, to build a clean, orchard fruit character. A wine cask shaped it, the fruit meeting the young spirit. The cool, damp Glasgow warehouse gives a steady maturation. It sits in Hillington Business Park in the southwest of Glasgow, just off the M8. Founders Liam Hughes and Mike Hayward set out to bring single malt back to the city. The stills are named for the founders' families and for the MacDonald artist sisters. A young distillery, it leans on active wood to bring its whisky to life quickly.

At a full 57.5% it is bold and fruity. Orchard fruit and a light honey lead, and the Port cask adds plum and red berry, and the wine cask lends red berry and a dry spice. It is bright and full, the young spirit shining through. The finish runs fresh, lively and clean. This is a young, fruity Glasgow single malt.
