The Bitter Truth Elderflower Liqueur

The Bitter Truth Elderflower Liqueur is a floral liqueur from The Bitter Truth, a German maker of bitters and liqueurs for the bar trade, bottled at 22%. It captures the scent of freshly blossomed elderflowers and pairs it with delicate fruity notes and a subtle herbal flavour, with a shimmering golden colour. As a floral liqueur built for cocktail work, it is designed less as a sipper and more as an aromatic ingredient, in the classic elderflower mould.

The nose is fresh and floral with intense elderflower and a hint of honey. The palate is fruity and slightly spicy with quince, white grape, herbs and sweet honey, the finish elegant, harmonious and long with a fresh floral aftertaste. Behind the bar it brings fragrant aromatic lift and a light honeyed sweetness that balances acidity and adds perfume to a drink. It is a natural in the Hugo, an Elderflower Spritz and summer fizzes, and works as an aperitif neat over ice or topped with sparkling wine, champagne or white wine. The floral note also lifts gin and vodka long drinks. Serve well chilled.
