Description
Tetramythos is a high altitude estate in the Peloponnese, working with organically and naturally farmed vineyards in the hills above the Gulf of Corinth. This wine is made from Sideritis, an indigenous Greek white grape, in a natural, low intervention style with minimal additions. The mountain setting and the salt laden breezes rising off the gulf shape the wine, with cool nights holding on to the grape's naturally high acidity. It is aged for around four months in a mix of clay amphora and old barrels, resting on its lees, which adds a gentle texture and savoury depth while the neutral vessels keep the focus on fruit and site rather than oak. The colour is pale with a faint haze in keeping with the natural method, and the nose is fresh and herbal, showing lemon, green apple and white peach over thyme and citrus peel. The palate is dry, lean and mineral, with bright acidity and a clear sea salt line into the finish. It is vivid and unforced. Serve it well chilled at around 9 to 11 degrees.

A bright partner for grilled fish and raw or steamed shellfish. The saline, herbal freshness also works with Greek salad, feta and lemon dressed vegetables.
