Description
Terra Remota Tan Natural is a young red Garnacha from D.O. Empordà, made by Emma and Marc Bournazeau on their estate at Sant Climent Sescebes in Alt Empordà, where they farm 40 hectares of organically grown vines in the north-eastern corner of Catalonia. Empordà sits between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean, swept by the cold north wind, the Tramontana, which keeps the vines healthy and dry and holds freshness in the fruit. The wine comes from young Garnacha vines and is made with no oenological additives and without oak ageing, a low-intervention approach that keeps the fruit pure and the structure light. With no barrel and minimal handling, the wine stays bright and direct, the early drinking style Garnacha gives when picked young and fermented clean. The colour is bright, light ruby. The nose is red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant over dried herbs and a savoury, earthy note. The palate is light to medium bodied, with soft tannins, fresh acidity and a clean, juicy finish. Serve lightly chilled at 14 to 15 degrees with charcuterie or lighter meats.
