Description
Terra Remota was founded by Emma and Marc Bournazeau in the Alt Empordà, near Sant Climent Sescebes in Girona, with forty hectares of organically farmed vineyards. Caminante blends Garnacha Blanca, Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc. Empordà sits between the Pyrenees and the Mediterranean under the Tramontana wind, which keeps the vineyards dry, healthy and cool despite the warm coastal climate, so the wine ripens fully while holding fresh acidity. In the cellar the grapes are chilled below six degrees before a careful selection and gentle pressing, which protects the fruit aromatics and limits oxidation, and fermentation runs at a controlled eighteen degrees. The wine is then aged eight months on its lees, which adds a light creamy texture and a rounder body while keeping the fruit clean and the style free of heavy oak. The Garnacha Blanca gives weight, the Chardonnay body and the Chenin a citrus lift. Expect a nose of white peach, melon and white flowers with a herbal note, and a rounded palate of green apple, pear and lemon over a fresh finish. Serve chilled at 9 to 11 degrees. Organic.

Additional information
The rounded stone fruit and fresh finish suit grilled white fish, roast chicken and seafood pasta. It also lifts green salads and lighter Mediterranean vegetable dishes.
