Description
Termes Blanco is a white Malvasía from Numanthia, the Toro estate run by the Eguren family in Castilla y León in northwest Spain. Toro is best known for powerful reds, but Malvasía has a long history here and gives a broad, textured white. The vineyards sit on a high continental plateau of sandy and stony soils, where hot, dry days and cold nights hold acidity in a warm climate and concentrate the fruit. Farming is organic. The wine is aged in wood, which adds weight, a light toasted frame and a slow oxygen exchange that broadens the palate while keeping the fruit at the centre. Malvasía brings ripe stone fruit and a subtle floral, aromatic lift. The wine is bright gold, with white peach, apricot and melon over white flowers, honey and a touch of citrus peel. The palate is round and balanced, the oak restrained, closing on a gently honeyed, mineral finish. Serve at 10 to 12 degrees.

Additional information
Serve with roast chicken, pork loin and baked white fish. The weight and stone fruit also carry roasted squash and creamy vegetable dishes, and it pairs well with Manchego and other hard Spanish cheeses.
