This is a Teaninich single malt, bottled by Murray McDavid matured to 8 year old from 2014, drawn from cask 721081A - 72105B and bottled at 46%. Only 1299 bottles were released. Teaninich, founded in 1817 by a Napoleonic veteran near the Cromarty Firth at Alness, is a key malt of Johnnie Walker. Fat copper stills add an oily texture to the clean, grassy spirit.

Distilled on Highland spring water through fat copper stills, building the light Highland style blenders prize. Maturation came in ex-Bourbon wood, with vanilla under the grassy spirit. Still young, the malt is grassy and oily with a citrus lift. The slow loss of the angel's share concentrates the grassy, waxy core over time. Robert Innes Cameron, an Elgin blender, became sole owner in 1904. The Munro family ran the distillery through two generations before selling. The Cromarty Firth nearby is one of few UK waters home to bottlenose dolphins.

At 46% it is supple and grassy. A fresh, oily grassiness meet honeyed oak sweetness underneath. The texture is light and oily, the grass threaded with honey. The finish is waxy, green and lively. This is a light, grassy Highland single malt.
