This is an aged Fijian single cask bottled by the UK's That Boutique-y Rum Company, known for honest, additive free selections with a sense of fun. The distillery is kept secret, but the profile is unmistakably Fijian, a molasses rum given twenty years in Ex-Bourbon oak and bottled at a cask strength 52.2%.

Fiji's rums are prized for their funky, ester rich and often medicinal character, and two decades of age have concentrated that here. The nose is markedly medicinal with tropical fruit, herbal and earthy notes underneath. The palate stays medicinal and fruity with a vegetal, licorice edge, while the finish turns tannic and minty with an overripe note that speaks to the high ester base. Some tasters find a softer, sweeter side with almond and vanilla emerging. Dry and demanding in the best sense, this is a serious old Fijian for drinkers who enjoy a rum with funk, age and a medicinal backbone.
