TBRC Diamond Versailles Still KFM 2002

That Boutique-y Rum Company bottled this single cask carrying the KFM marque from the 2002 vintage, sixteen years old and run off the Versailles single wooden pot still. The KFM mark gives a profile noticeably distinct from other Versailles releases, especially at this comparatively young age, while keeping the bracing, raw timber character of the still.

Molasses based and matured in ex-bourbon oak to a dry, unsweetened finish, it needs time in the glass to settle. Once open it shows green apple, grape, dried fruit, honey and chocolate over dry wood, with a herbal palate edged with anise and a finish of raisin, spice and young timber. The cask influence is already pronounced. At 54.3 percent it is a dry, wood led sipper with genuine character and a fair price, rewarding anyone willing to give it air.
