Tarquin’s Pink Grapefruit & Elderflower Gin

From the Southwestern Distillery on the north Cornish coast, this is Tarquin's signature dry gin given a fruity, floral turn. The base spirit is distilled in small batches in copper pot stills with botanicals including coriander, angelica, orris and a brush of cinnamon, alongside fresh grapefruit peel; after distillation it is flavoured with elderflower extract, which is where the floral elegance comes from rather than the still.

The nose sparkles with fresh grapefruit, floral elderflower and a hint of juniper. The palate is fresh and lively, citrus dominant with a fine sweetness and floral nuance, light spice giving depth underneath, before a gentle, medium-long finish that stays fruity over soft juniper. Pour it over a Mediterranean tonic with a twist of grapefruit zest and a sprig of elderflower.
