Description
Tante Barbels Kasekuchen is a German cream liqueur that sets out to capture the flavour of freshly baked cheesecake in liquid form. Bottled at 17% with a creamy soft consistency, it sits among the dessert cream liqueurs, made from fine cream and alcohol with the vanilla, biscuit base and creamy cheese filling character that gives it its name. As a dairy emulsion it should be treated as a dairy product once opened, kept chilled and used within a finite life rather than cellared.
The nose is sweet, creamy and inviting with vanilla, shortbread and a hint of lemon. The palate is creamy, mild and full bodied with cheesecake, vanilla, cream and delicate pastry notes, the finish long, soft and sweet with a lingering vanilla creaminess. Behind the bar it adds body, sweetness and a dessert note, well suited to after dinner pours and dessert cocktails. It works chilled neat or on ice, stirred into coffee or milkshakes, or used in baking such as cheesecake toppings and cream desserts. Serve well chilled and keep refrigerated after opening.
