Description
Tanqueray's house gin has been made by four distillations since 1830, and Rangpur takes that base in a fruitier direction. Its signature is the rare Rangpur fruit, a cross between lemon and mandarin that pairs the tang of one with the juicy sweetness of the other, giving the gin an intense, refreshing citrus depth that sets it apart from the classic style. Selected botanicals round the fruit out so it reads as balanced rather than sweet.
The nose is fresh and fruity with a hint of juniper underneath. The palate is mild, dominated by intense citrus and bright lime, the juniper sitting back to let the fruit lead, before a long finish. It is at its best poured tall with a premium tonic and a generous slice of lime.
