Tanduay Especia Spiced Rum is a flavoured release from the major Philippine distiller Tanduay, built on a rum base with added spice and sweetening. It is openly a spiced rum rather than a straight aged spirit, designed around its aromatics rather than cask depth.

The defining notes are nutmeg and mace, which carry the nose and palate over a warm, spicy base. It is sweetened, with the sugar and spice working together, though the alcohol still shows through. Among spiced rums it lands on the more restrained and better-integrated side, with the nutmeg and mace giving it a distinctive identity rather than the usual generic vanilla-and-cinnamon. Honest about its category, it works best in cola and spiced cocktails rather than as a neat sipper.
