This official Tamdhu single malt and bottled at 46%. A release of 3240 bottles. Set on a Speyside site once known for smuggling, Tamdhu has distilled since 1897. Under Ian Macleod it is matured chiefly in sherry seasoned Spanish and American oak.

Distilled on soft Speyside water in onion stills, building the rich, sherried style Tamdhu is known for. Maturation in Oloroso sherry laid fig and raisin over the spirit. No age is given, but the sherried depth points to good years in oak. The fragrant, fruity spirit has the weight to stand up to active sherry wood. Ian Macleod runs Tamdhu alongside Glengoyne and Rosebank. Water is drawn from the Tamdhu Spring on the Speyside site. The distillery was built on a spot once known for illicit distilling. A full, fruity spirit gives Tamdhu the weight to carry active sherry wood. An in house cooperage was set up in 2019 to manage its sherry casks. Tamdhu sits among the great sherried Speysiders, a sister to Macallan in style.

At 46% it is supple and rich. The Oloroso brings dried fruit, fig and a nutty depth. Soft orchard fruit and raisin sit behind the spice. The close is warm, dried fruit over soft oak. This is Tamdhu's classic sherried Speyside style.
