Taketsuru Pure Malt is the entry-level NAS expression in Nikka's blended malt range, drawing on malt whisky from Yoichi in Hokkaido and Miyagikyo in Miyagi Prefecture without an age statement. Bottled at 43% for the global market, it is designed to showcase the complementary relationship between the two malt sites in an accessible and widely available format.

Ex-Bourbon oak maturation gives the liquid a clean vanilla and fruit sweetness, with fresh fruit and malt extract the primary notes in this bottling. Yoichi's firmer, slightly coastal character adds structure while Miyagikyo's lighter, more aromatic orchard fruit profile adds fragrance, the two working together in the way the Taketsuru range consistently pursues across its age statements.
