Takamaka Overproof Rum is a high strength white rum from the Seychelles, produced at Trois Frères Distillery and bottled at 69% ABV. Built for cocktail use, it delivers intense rum weight with a clean, punchy profile that holds its shape through citrus, sugar and dilution, making it ideal for split base Daiquiris, Tiki drinks and high impact long serves.

Takamaka Overproof Rum is produced in the Seychelles at Trois Frères Distillery on Mahé, and sits as the high strength expression within the Takamaka range. Presented as a clear, unaged style, it’s intended to prioritise intensity and structure rather than cask influence, with the focus kept firmly on the distillate itself.

From a production perspective this is a molasses based rum distilled on a column still, with the alcohol level taken up to 69% ABV. That higher strength changes how the spirit behaves in a drink: it carries more volatile aroma compounds into the glass, hits faster on the nose, and keeps more presence once you add ice, citrus, syrups or carbonated mixers. In practical terms, it holds flavour where standard strength white rum can flatten out after dilution.

Because there’s no maturation rounding it off, the profile stays direct and functional: alcohol heat, sharp lift, and a lean, bright backbone that works especially well in modern tropical builds and classic sour structures. The most effective way to use it is as a reinforcement tool in a recipe, either as a measured float for aroma or as part of a split base with a lower strength rum to add punch without turning the drink into pure ethanol.
