Description
Tagaro is a family project near Fasano in Puglia, where vineyards sit among olive trees and pale stone under a strong southern light. Pinot Grigio is a versatile white grape that in a lighter fresh style leans on crisp acidity and delicate fruit. The Mediterranean climate here dictates the rhythm of the vintage, with hot days tempered by breezes off the nearby Adriatic that help hold acidity and keep the wine fresh. This bottling is aged for two months on its fine lees, a short contact that lends a little texture while keeping the style clean and unoaked. The colour is a luminous pale yellow with greenish reflections. The nose is delicate, with green apple, pear and citrus over white flowers. The palate is light and dry, the crisp acidity carrying the subtle fruit into a clean finish with a faint saline lift. At 12 percent it is light and refreshing. Serve well chilled at 8 to 10 degrees.
