T.D.L Rumclub Private Selection Ed. 44 2002

This is a single cask of T.D.L, Trinidad Distillers Limited, distilled in 2002 and bottled in the Rumclub Private Selection by Spirit of Rum. T.D.L is the modern Trinidad producer behind the Angostura range, working in the light, column still Spanish heritage idiom, and its older single casks are sought after for a distinctive cool, herbal character. Bottled unsweetened at cask strength, this 21 year old leans fully into that signature.

The defining notes are mint, menthol and eucalyptus, a herbal coolness that runs from nose to finish, set over peachy yellow fruit, wood, chocolate and a light bitterness. Twenty one years of ageing give it depth and polish, and although it arrives at full cask strength the 58.4% feels well integrated rather than hot. This is a complex, fresh Trinidad rum built for slow sipping and for drinkers who already appreciate the herbal, minty side of aged T.D.L.
