Description
Bottled by Maison Ferrand under its Plantation banner, this is a single cask Trinidad rum from TDL distillate of the 2011 vintage, released for a group of Slovak rum enthusiasts. It comes from the light, fragrant column-still tradition of living Trinidad rum, here matured in a Burgundy wine cask that lends a red-fruit and tannic frame. Bottled at cask strength, 49.2%, it has more grip than the standard 40% Trinidad pour. Expect soft caramel and tropical fruit from the spirit, dressed with the dark berry and dried-fruit notes a Burgundy cask tends to give. Maison Ferrand bottlings can carry dosage, so treat it as a rounded sipper rather than a bone-dry one.
